Love is like butterfly...Justrite #115

Posted by Rajni Chawla

Hello friends...

Last week I got few new Justrite Stamps from their 2014 release along with my Justrite wins. I was so excited to try my hands on Rose Postcard Background Stamp. I gave it a try and hand painted it with distress inks and  designed one more card for Justrite Challenge #115 ..Spring Cheer.
I used three stamped images...the top one is fussy cut and painted with distress inks, second one cut with Spellbinder's Labels Seventeen and third one just distressed using vintage photo and torn d edges to make a base for my top two layers. I also used Majestic Elements Labels Twenty Five and Butterfly Circles and made multiple layers for the card. I made a pocket for secret tags which holds sentiments from Winged Vintage Labels Two and Three.

Here is the complete look with few of its close-ups..

I have painted one extra butterfly .

Really really loved the sentiment the sentiment. I was just perfect for the theme of my card.

Can you see the dimensions i created by adding extra fussy cut layer of flowers.

Do leave few words of love if you liked my card. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello friends !!
Its March n Spring has already arrived. We all here in India are enjoying cool breeze after intense cold. The music is in air, birds are singing n the trees are looking fresh and lovely after regaining their lost leaves.Trees in the spring present beautiful feast to our eyes.
The sight of green and yellow fields fills our hearts with hope. My today's card is specially designed keeping the Spring Cheer theme for challenge #115 of Justrite Stampers in mind.

Here is what I have come up with.

I have used Spellbinders Nestabilities Die - Tapestry die and Timeless Rectangles to create the card base. The flowers are from Sunflowers Vintage Labels Five. I have stamped three separate images to create this beautiful bunch.

The flowers are colored using distress inks and fussy cut and the sentiment is from Timely Banners from Justrite.

I was not sure about the final looks of the card when I started this card....but was quite happy with the end results. Hope you like it.

Good Luck Card

Posted by Rajni Chawla

Hello crafty friends !!

"You can learn new things at any time in your life if you're willing to be a beginner. If you actually learn to like being a beginner, the whole world opens up to you"

How true it is..!!

I was totally new to paper craft...then new to blogging ....then new to card making....then new to digis...andddd still new to so many of my new crafty things that I bought recently.

OMG....can't believe how I reached here. Everything was so new.

Life is a continuous learning process and thank God I am blessed with a will power to learn at every step.

Today I am here to share my new inspiration card that I specially designed as a Dt for Color Conception Challenge Blog and Time4Scrap. This is my third try on painting digis. Hope u like it.

The theme is Saint Patrick's Day at Time4 Scrap.

Aww......now this was totally new to me....didn't knew what this day means??

I googled it down and got to know that this is an Irish festival which is falling on 17th of March and means good luck to Guinness!! However, its true meaning is as a time-honored day for spiritual regeneration and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide. To celebrate this they wear all greens and teals. That is the reason why I only used shades of greens and teal to paint my digi. I have blended distress inks and pencil colors (Stedtlers). After painting the digi I have added a little glittery touch to all leaves in the background and butterflies with my new new new Wink of Stella pens. The painted card panel was looking so attractive that I left the flowers unpainted and gave a single layer on flowers and added a small crystal on top.

Here are the pictures with few close-ups...

The pictures were taken early in the morning....so could not catch the proper shine of Stella Glitters.

So, Isn't it amazing trying on new themes every time.....new color combos and new products.

For me...it's always learning.
So,What are You all waiting for!!

Getting Inspired By Nature..

Posted by Rajni Chawla

Hello lovely ladies...

Today I m here to share a post that I made as  DT for color Conception Challenge Blog. In this article , I will share my tips for finding inspiration for crafting from Nature. Looking at the world we live in and finding a way to integrate it into a design requires seeing nature from a new and very different perspective. There is inspiration around everywhere around you and you just need to keep your eyes and minds open!! You can find loads of ideas, shapes, textures, color combos, themes, etc form various sources of nature.

The sunset and sunrise, the song of birds, their evening gatherings, the breeze that sways trees and the winds that blow your mind away…it’s all inspiration for you. Nature is serene, beautiful, lovely, unique and a gift to every one of us. Experiencing it and getting inspired by it should be a part of every crafter's life. Listen to the birds tweeting, the wind blowing, water lapping on the shore, the crickets cricketing all night long and the trees swaying....everything is so inspiring!! See the breathtaking sunrise and sunset-how in minutes a blanket of darkness overcomes light and how the light wins over darkness. See the birds in tens, hundreds and thousands , flying away home, the clouds each of them, having their own story to tell, the plants growing greener by the day, the flowers smiling, the stars twinkling in complete darkness. Feel the waves of the sea ,the shades of the trees and the lovely gentle breeze.

Here is what I have come up with inspiration from the divine beauty of nature. Hope you like them. Making CAS cards,as you all know, is not my style but I tried to gave my best. All cards that I am sharing today are specially made for this post to inspire you all. All the inspiration pictures are taken from net.

INSPIRATION  (SUNRISE)There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss  to get inspiration from these.

I used my Technique Tuesday Stamp, IO stamp,Tim Holz stencil and Distress Inks to create this card.

INSPIRATION  (SUNSET)

Sunrise paints the sky with pinks and reds, the sunset with peaches. It is  still and shadowy and sweet n cool !!

I have used Memory Box Die Orchard Tree Frame , Memory Box Die Debutante Frame, and Distress Inks. The sentiment is from Tim Holz stamp set.

How about this??
Nature changes its mood....a little warmer look now !!

For this I used Impression Obsession Hydrangea Stamp set and few Distress Inks. This was really a quick card.

INSPIRATION
(a little cool n foggy)

In this particular picture I loved the balance of black n red and fell in love with it. I used Tim Holz stencils,Hero Arts Stamp and PTI stamp.

INSPIRATION (FALL LEAVES)

We all enjoy the colors of autumn leaves. The changing fall foliage never fails to surprise and delight us. Maple leaves turn bright red ,orange and deep yellow. Aren't they pretty enough to inspire us.

Another one...!!

I combined both and created a Thank You card. I have used Justrite Stamps and Distress Inks. Also used glossy accents to make that tiny droplets.

INSPIRATION  (OCEANS/WAVES)
People of all ages love to watch the ocean waves and listen to them.I often feel refreshed by seeing scenes of the ocean. But what seems to influence me most is the sound of the ocean. The sound made by the ocean waves is really the natural sound of the universe. I feel ,the waves are singing...the rhythm they make is deep from the heart of ocean.

Here is what I came up with...
The music die by Joycraft is complimenting the soothing and cool colors picked from ocean.
 When words fail...Music speaks!!How romantic!!

INSPIRATION (RAINBOW)

My teacher asked my favorite color. ... I said ‘Rainbow’.... and I was punished to stand out of my class.
How Iove Rainbowwwwws !!
Colors are my favorites.

And here is my card...!!
Background with all rainbow colors and the darkness I have given with black butterfly.
I have used Distress Inks, Tim Holz stencil ,Penny Black Stamp Set,Versamark Ink and Golden Heat Embossing Powder.

INSPIRATION  (WINDS)

The answer to everything, and to life itself, is blowing in the Wind....blowing with the Wind. So much of inspirations....give your thoughts a little creative look and
give your dreams a little flight.

The kites are hand drawn and hand cut and stamp used is Dylusion Stamp.

INSPIRATION
(flowers /gardens/butterflies)
I'm grateful for always being surrounded by flowers....my handmade flowers. I consider myself quite blessed to be able to share what I know about flower making with you. I mostly use my handmade flowers on my cards. I'm sharing few of my old cards also to show how crazy I'm for flowers.

There are tons and tons of inspirations that you can get from nature. Chirping birds, softness of their feathers, innocence in their eyes...these are all sources of inspiration. Bark of the trees, their widely spread branches, smaller to smaller vein of the leaf also inspires us....sometimes to pick the theme...sometimes to pick the color combo and sometimes textures.
Inspiration is there everywhere. All you have to do is to spot it and capture it.

I hope I was able to inspire you from nature. Do leave your valuable comments...they mean a lot to me. Besides all inspiring things around, I feel more inspired and more confident with your love and support.

Botanical Bliss

Posted by Rajni Chawla

Hello lovely ladies...

Once again I am here with another card to play with Justrite Stampers. This time the challenge says.. Botanical Bliss that means to use either flowers or butterflies or both. Flowers ..they really smell and their colors are an embellishments of our life and butterflies, it goes where it pleases and it pleases wherever it goes. Isn't it ??

This time I tried using little softer shades  for my card and used JustRite Hello Daisy Cling Stamp to create a 3d flower for my Hello Card.

The flower is first stamped on Vellum, using Black Stazon Ink and then fussy cut and  then embossed with ball tool. I added little color to the center of the flower petals with distress inks and added black n gold glitter balls to its center with the help of Glossy Accents. The leaves  were separately cut and painted with distress inks on solid card stock.

The pattern paper used is Mariposa from DCWV. I have created a see thru window using acetate sheet with  Spellbinders Card Creator 5x7 Detailed Scallops. I have also used Large Circle Doily and French Lily Corner from Joy crafts.

Butterfly is  from Spellbinder...Wings of Hope which i inked with distress inks and then coated with Wink of Stella glitter.

Thanks for stopping by. Do leave your love as a comment if you really liked my card.

Saving a little time for you

Posted by Rajni Chawla

Hello all

Today, its 5th Feb. Its a special day for me because its my daughters birthday. She's 17 now.
WOW....can't believe where the time go!!

She's always complaining that I don't give her sufficient time .
"Mom you are always busy with your craft work."
Yes...she is so true. I was really not taking out time for her after she lost her father. I was so stuck up with my work. So,I decided to give her something that can always remind me that my little one needs my attention.
Yesterday we spent a whole day together chatting n enjoying and off course shopping and  presented her with a beautiful card along with her b'day cake exactly when the clock struck 12 in the night. Today I'm sharing the same card with you all.

I designed my card keeping the current challenge  of JustRite #113 in my mind . I was so excited  to use my latest January release Time For You  Cling Stamp. I followed the 5th edition of JustRite Tuesday tutorial in which Heidi , heat embossed the image on pattern paper. I gave a little twist and combined two different stamps French Rose background stamp and Time For You Cling Stamp  and tried layered stamping to create the back ground. Here are the pics of few steps....sorry I'm not into so much of clicking that's why missed taking clicks of few steps. Hope i'm able to make you understand the step by step procedure to make this background.

I randomly stamped French Rose Cling Stamp on white card stock with Black Archival Ink and then stamped again using Time For You Cling Stamp.

I next stamped  using same Time For You Stamp with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine Golden Embossing Powder.

Main attraction of my card is the embellishment that I made with same stamped image. For this I stamped the image, fussy cut and then inked using Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain. Then I used Versamark on whole image and heat set using Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. Sorry I got so impatient to see the end product   that I skipped clicking step by step pictures.

Here is the video tutorial that can help working with UTEE. I added more then 3 layers to get the end look.

Last but not the least...the whole stamped image was inked using different shades of Distress Inks. Here is the final look the background.

Now the complete look.....after adding so many layers using die cuts and different card stocks.

I rolled down one corner and arranged a small bouquet of flowers which express my feelings  and tied that bunch of flowers with the clock saying Saving  a little time for you. I was so satisfied after designing it as the card said it all....and will keep reminding me of my baby.
Opps!!
She says...she's not a baby now. She has turned into a sweet little lady..but will always remain like a baby in my heart.

Since I have skipped clicking few steps...if you have any query please feel free to ask me by leaving a comment or by mailing me at rajnichawla69@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by
