Dry embossing using kitchen foil

Posted by Rajni Chawla

Hello lovely ladies...

Rajni, here from Passionately Curious. Today, I'm here after a short break. Hope you all enjoyed playing along our challenges and discount sales going on the Craft Shop.

Our current challenge demands wet or dry embossing on your projects. Today I'm here to inspire you all with dry embossing using various embossing folders with kitchen foil.
Yessss....you heard it correctly.....I'm talking about regular kitchen foil only. You can also use various craft foils but I preferred using the same as it was already with me.  As kitchen foil is non porous, I have used alcohol inks to give different tones. Few crafters says alcohol inks are difficult to handle. But I must say everything is difficult when we try for the first time, It took more then 1 hour when I started with my first piece but with second, third and fourth it became so easier and hardly took half the time i spent in making first base.

Here are few video to show you how you can emboss and how to use alcohol inks.

I was so amazed with the first out cum that I kept on trying more.....just got addicted working with the same technique. Addiction of anything is bad....but for me addiction to any craft technique is like breathing.
And look what I came up with my so called addiction :P

Do u believe these gorgeous pieces are nothing but the regular kitchen foil.
Aren't
they pretty ??

Small tips to be taken care of while working with foil

1. Try to use thick kitchen foil and fold it 3-4 times to make it more steadier.
2.  I also prefer giving a layer of glue in between all the layers.
3.  Always take extra margin of foil  as you might damage the corners while working with alcohol inks.

Last days I was practicing coloring with distress inks All that went so perfect with my cards. Simple layering, a die cut frame, distress ink colored flowers, butterflies and a sentiment. Here are the cards that I assembled with these beautiful pieces.

Hope,I have inspired you all that what stunning effects you can achieve with regular kitchen foil and dry embossing.
So,don't you want to try your hands on these beauties?? Just take out little time and dig out what all embossing folders you have in your stash. Create one and do play along our current challenge dry/wet embossing.

Happiness Is Spending Time Together

Posted by Rajni Chawla

Hello all...

Here is my another entry for Justrite Friday Challenge #117. I am enjoying working with  Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven Clear Stamp. This time I stamped these flowers separately and again colored them  using distress re inkers. But in this card I fussy cut them, added dimensions and used them as embellishments for my card. I have added different matts and layered my card using Spellbinder's Nestabilities Tapestry die , Spellbinders Nestabilities Gold Majestic, Spellbinders Butterflies circle.Sentiment is stamped with Hero Arts shadow ink and is from Justrite Ornate Happiness Squares. Small butterflies are from winged vintage labels two and three and the bigger butterflies are from Hydrangea vintage Labels Seven stamp set.  The flourish is from Spellbinder's Twisted Metal Tags and Accents die set.

Used Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush on flowers and butterflies.

Basic circle die and circle butterfly dies are clustered together to form a frame for the sentiment.

Hope You like my entries. Looking forward to hear your views.

Hello all....

I am again here to share my entry for JustRite Challenge #117. This weeks challenge is to use their gorgeous sketch. Here is what I came up with. I have used JustRite's March release Magnolia Vintage Labels Seven Clear Stamp set and created two cards. Here is the first one.

The magnolia flowers are stamped and then colored using distress re-inkers on Spellbinder's Label 17. Again distressed the complete label with distress inks using stenciling technique. Then highlighted it to make it a center  piece for my card and placed it on Spellbinders detailed scollops die cut.

The  magnolia flowers are glittered using Wink of Stella clear brush. Really loved the end results of my card.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, fussy cut and matted on a black card stock. The butterflies I have taken from Hydrangea vintage labels seven stamp set and winged vintage labels two and three.

The  main flowers are handmade by me and garnished with diamond dust and white puffy paint.

Thanks for stopping by !!
Looking forward to hear your views about my creation.

Helo all.....!!

Third and the last entry for Justrite Challenge #116. This time I used background stamp..Remember When and created a tag and stuck it on my card base. I kept it quite simple and just gave little distressing at the edges.  Sentiment is from Timely Banners

Loved the clean and yet the elegant and vintage results.

Hello all!!

I don't know about others but I myself  really get swayed away with others views very easily. While I was about to make my previous entry for Justrite Current Challenge, my daughter came in and was not happy with colors that I have used. According to her I should have used bit brighter shades to match the sentiments.
I gave myself another try on the same stamp and really was very happy with the results. This color combo was suggested by my daughter....so credit goes to her also.

Again used simple techniques of masking and layered stamping and I was done with my card and the stamp set used is same..... Let your soul sing from Justrite collection. This card of mine is making my second entry for Justrite's Current Challenge.

Hope You like this one too!!

Hello...Its CAS Cards at Justrite stampers current challenge.
Now this is a real challenge !!
As you all know I love working with lots of layerings , die-cuts, distressing and adding handmade flowers...CAS is not my style. These days I'm neck deep with my tight schedule of workshops and my pending orders. I am running short of time and on top of that....this challenge putting me out of my comfort zone. My mind wanted to skip but my heart wanted me to try....so the cards I'm entering the current challenge are my creations results of that little confusion and shortage of time  :P

It has always been fun playing with justrite stamps. This time I used Let Your Soul Sing from their collection.
Now, this was my first try....not bad but not satisfied.
Its heat embossing with seafoam white embossing powder and distress inks.

This was my second try....and loved it !!
I have used simple techniques of masking, water splitting and layered stamping.
Love it as it ended but thought adding some small pearls will finish off the card. so I did. Hope you like it.
